서울을 기반으로 활동하는 이혜미(b.1984) 작가는 흙이라는 원초적인 재료를 바탕으로 다양한 물성을 탐구한다. 그는 쓰임에 구애받지 않는 오브제를 제작하며, 도자 위에 은을 덧입히는 반복적인 과정을 통해 시간에 대한 존중을 드러낸다. 과거·현재·미래가 하나의 흐름으로 이어진다는 믿음을 바탕으로 조형을 빚으며, 은빛 레이어는 시간의 연결성과 응축된 아름다움, 그리고 유연한 형태를 담아낸다. 작품은 공간의 습도와 온도에 반응해 끊임없이 변화하며, 관객과 자연스러운 연결을 형성한다. 그 결과 이혜미의 오브제는 단순한 사물의 차원을 넘어, 시간과 감각, 존재의 흔적을 내포한 고유한 개체로 완성된다. 그는 《Stardust》(2025, 아트사이드 갤러리, 서울), 2023년 싱가포르 bol gallery에서 열린 개인전을 비롯해, 2022년 갤러리 카비넷(서울)에서의 《Scenes of Time》, 2021년 B-tree Gallery(서울)에서의 《Silver pigments, time to be made by hand》 등 주요 개인전을 통해 꾸준히 자신만의 언어를 구축해 왔다. 또한 뉴욕 길드 갤러리에서 열린 《Moon Jars No Simple Matter》(2025), 파리에서 개최된 《THE MIGNON SHOW: Variations on Korean Arts & Crafts》(2025), 《Terre Mêlée III》(2024), 서울공예박물관의 《Craft/WHITE》(2022), 파리 갤러리 조셉에서 열린 《1000 Vases》(2020), 나고야 아이치현립 도예미술관의 《Contemporary Ceramic Art in Asia》(2009) 등 국내외 다양한 기획전에 참여하며 국제적인 활동을 이어가고 있다. 그의 작품은 미국 볼티모어 미술관과 한국 라마다 호텔 신도림에 소장되어 있으며, 한국 현대도예의 독창성과 감각적 확장을 보여주는 중요한 사례로 자리매김하고 있다.

Seoul-based artist Lee Heami (b. 1984) explores the diverse materiality of clay, an elemental and primordial substance. She creates objects liberated from predetermined function, revealing a reverence for time through the repeated process of layering silver over ceramic surfaces. Guided by the belief that the past, present, and future exist as a continuous flow, Lee shapes her forms through this cyclical perspective. The silver layers embody the interconnectedness of time, the beauty condensed through accumulation, and the fluidity inherent in organic transformation. Her works respond sensitively to the humidity and temperature of their surroundings, undergoing constant, subtle changes that foster an unforced connection with viewers. In this way, Lee’s objects move beyond mere physical artifacts—emerging instead as singular presences imbued with time, sensation, and traces of existence. Lee has steadily developed her distinct artistic language through major solo exhibitions including 《Stardust》 (2025, Artside Gallery, Seoul); her 2023 solo show at bol gallery in Singapore; 《Scenes of Time》 (2022, Gallery Kabinett, Seoul); and 《Silver pigments, time to be made by hand》 (2021, B-tree Gallery, Seoul). She has also participated in a wide range of domestic and international curated exhibitions, such as 《Moon Jars No Simple Matter》 (2025, Guild Gallery, New York); 《THE MIGNON SHOW: Variations on Korean Arts & Crafts》 (2025, Paris); 《Terre Mêlée III》 (2024, Paris); 《Craft/WHITE》 (2022, Seoul Museum of Craft Art); 《1000 Vases》 (2020, Galerie Joseph, Paris); and 《Contemporary Ceramic Art in Asia》 (2009, Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum, Nagoya). Her works are included in the collections of the Baltimore Museum of Art (USA) and Ramada Hotel Sindorim (Korea), positioning her practice as a significant example of the originality and sensorial expansion seen in contemporary Korean ceramics.
